TIFFANY BROOKS
Tiffany is a Health Psychologist who works clinically at Aware and as a senior lecturer providing pastoral support for the University of Adelaide Health and Medical School. She has completed a Master of Psychology (Health), endorsement in health psychology and more recently a PhD. Clinically, she specialises in seeing clients with overlapping chronic health and mental health conditions. She predominantly sees clients with pelvic pain, women’s health concerns, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and other chronic pain and health conditions. Tiffany utilizes therapeutic approaches drawn from cognitive processing therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and schema therapy. She also utilizes therapeutic techniques, such as hypnotherapy and relaxation strategies. In terms of research, she is interested in the overlap between psychology and chronic health conditions. Her PhD and ongoing research have looked at psychological interventions for women with persistent pelvic pain conditions.
You can access appointments with Tiffany through obtaining a mental health care plan from your GP. Alternatively, you can attend as a private client. Some private insurers will fund psychology sessions, but how many and the rebate provided for private sessions depend on your provider and level of insurance cover.
