Dr Joy O’Hazy is a General Practitioner with particular interest and qualifications in women’s health. She has completed a Medical Degree, Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Certificate of Family Planning in Adelaide and has extensive experience in General Practice in both urban and rural settings, including running a General Practice along with three other female General Practitioners.
Dr O’Hazy has worked with rural women all over SA, as part of the Fly In Fly Out Rural Women’s GP Service, for the past 18 years.
Further expertise has been gained from working in specialist services such as vulval clinics, urology clinics with Continence Matters, SHINE, Breast screen SA, Migrant Health Services, the Queen Victoria Hospital and Women’s Health Services. She enjoys working with women from their teens to 90’s to identify, resolve or manage their women’s health needs. Her broad range of interests and expertise cover contraception, infection, fertility, cervical screening, period problems, menopause, bladder problems and breast concerns.
Dr O’Hazy has a long term interest in international women’s health issues and is involved in the Birthing Kit Foundation Australia. She was nominated in 2020 for South Australian of the Year in recognition of her ongoing commitment to this wonderful organisation and women’s health.
